Writing how to make a Nanaimo bar

 

  1. To make a nanaimo bar you need to have a pot not a pan for the first layer. The first layer is the base of the bar. You would need to add ½ cup of butter into the pot and let it melt away in the pot. Once the butter is melted you would need to take the pot of the heat and add ¼ cup of sugar. After you have added the sugar you would need to add ⅓ cup of cocoa powder then give it a mix until it looks very dark and watery. Once you have finished mixing it you add in one egg and mix it in. When you have finished that put it back on the heat and continue to stir until the mix has dissolved then take it off again. After that you need to add in to the pot 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or in other words vanilla essence. Once you have done that add in to the pot 200 grams of grahams crackers and mix it all together. Then you would need to add to the pot 1 cup of shredded coconut then half a cup of chopped almonds. Give it a mix and it is ready to go. Once that is finished you would need a dish plat thing and baking paper. With that you would need to line up the baking paper to the dish then grab the mix and pour it at the bottom of the dish for the bottom layer. Once this is finished you need to put it into the refrigerator to set for 1 hour.


  1. Now for the middle layer. You would need 55g of butter. Put that into a mixer and beat it until smooth and creamy. After that mix in 2 tablespoons of custard powder with 2 cups of icing sugar. Once you have finished that mix in ½ tsp vanilla essence. Then mix in 2-3 tablespoons of milk then mix in the beater till smooth. After that you want to put that mix on top of the bottom layer and push the mix down firmly with a spoon. Make sure you get all of the mix out of the bowl otherwise it won’t work when you spread it out. Then put it in the refrigerator for about 30 minute also.


  2. Now for the last layer of the bar and it is the top lawyer. You are going to need a bowl and a pot filled with water. Now you don’t put the bowl touching the water, you just want it on top of the water. Once you have done this you are going to add in 115g of chocolate to the bowl on top of the pot. Any chocolate but I think it would be better with normal chocolate. After that you would need to add 14g of butter into the bowl with the chocolate. Then mix both of the two things that you put in the bowl for it to melt all together. Now you are just going to grab the bowl off the pot and turn off the heat before you leave the pot and pour the chocolate on top of the middle mix then flatten it all out until even. Also if someone wants to help with the last bit let them. Then put all of that into the fridge for about 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes is over cut it and it is good to eat.
